TOR

Tor (short for The Onion Router) is free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, Tor is an excellent software if you´re looking for anonymity.

The technology of this tool is known as “Onion Routing” and it refers to the layered nature of the encryption service: The original data are encrypted and re-encrypted multiple times, then sent through successive Tor relays, each one of which decrypts a “layer” of encryption before passing the data on to the next relay and, ultimately, its destination. This reduces the possibility of the original data being unscrambled or understood in transit

Tor’s hidden services let users publish web sites and other services without needing to reveal the location of the site. Tor can also be use for socially sensitive communication, such as, chat rooms and web forums for rape and abuse survivors, or people with illnesses.

This software is not just for your security or privacy, it can also help you with entertainment or even with your business for example, an e-commerce site uses price discrimination based on your country or institution of origin.
